Message from Coach Cosgrove

   As we begin July it's time to start looking towards the beginning of the season.  We will still hold a few practices the week of the 26th.  The original schedule coach Adams sent out has a schedule but I plan to change it slightly.  We will most likely practice that Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-8:00.  These practices are not mandatory, but they will be a great opportunity for us to get in some work and start setting our practice routines so we can hit the season running the next week.
   If you will be away for nationals during the first week of August please let Coach Cosgrove  know.

We will be offering a variety of events this summer that should allow players of all ages to be involved in the exciting sport of fastpitch at Walton High School.  We have something for upcoming 2nd graders all the way through our high school seniors.

VARSITY TEAM CAMP (July 12-14)
While this is titled a Varsity camp, attendance does not mean that you have been on varsity in the past or will be on varsity this season.  This camp is an invitation only experience that allows us to really start focusing on what it will take for us to be at our best when the season starts in August.  If you get invited, you should do all you can to attend this important event.

PRE-TRYOUT WEEK (July 27-29)
Nothing is mandatory until tryouts start.  However, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to be at their best when official evaluations begin.  We will start going over bunt coverages, first and third scenarios, offensive approach, etc.  Plan to be here if at all possible.

OFFICIAL TRYOUTS (August 2 and 3)
Now you MUST be here.  The only exception will be for those that communicate with Coach Cosgrove well in advance and have very good reason.  We will make our decisions about JV and Varsity rosters at the end of tryouts.
